Seder Meal 2017

More than 300 people gathered to celebrate the Seder Meal with our 48 First Communicants.

Every year at Concordia we offer an opportunity for all 6th graders and their parent/significant faith mentor to walk through what it means to participate in Holy Communion.  Any 6th-8th grader that is planning to go through Confirmation in the Fall of their 9th grade year must to take this class one time before they can go through the Rite of Confirmation.

Our Communion preparation class is called Welcome to the Lord's Table and we meet two Wednesdays before Holy Week. We will offer dinner for those who need it each Wednesday that we meet. A parent or significant faith mentor is required to be present along with the youth for every Welcome to the Lord's Table class.

We will conclude our Communion preparation class, with a special celebration meal on Maundy Thursday, April 13, from 5:00-8:00pm.  This celebration is a time where ALL family members are invited to take part in a traditional first century Seder Meal. The Seder Meal is a full meal and all family members are asked to be a part of this special celebration. After the Seder Meal we will then attend worship together where the youth and their family will take Communion for the first time together. The family will then pray a special blessing on the youth.
