All Youth Retreat
August 26-28

Join more than 150 of your closest friends as we gather together for a weekend of community, worship, and fun!

This is a unique three day/two night camp experience that happens annually for students in 6th-12th grade and the All Youth Retreat is a great way to kick off the school year! Each day is packed full with activities like community building, ropes courses, bonfires, lake swimming, basketball, ping pong, worship and interactive learning.

Reckless Love

Our theme for 2022 is "Reckless Love.” This year’s theme flows from Luke 15 where we learn just how reckless God’s Love is as He recklessly seeks and saves. God’s people are always changing and growing, and no one’s journey looks the same. This year, we will learn how our God’s so deep love for us is always ours in all the “recklessness” of our own lives.

To help cement that vision in the hearts of our kids we have two incredible leaders joining our Concordia family for this weekend. Pastor Billy Newell, former Associate Pastor at Concordia, now Senior Pastor at Trinity Lutheran Church in Normal, Illinois, and his wife, Dr. Kristen Newell, assistant principal and teacher at Trinity Lutheran School. They are very excited about sharing what it means to live in our God’s Reckless Love!

  • 6th Grade: God Is … -- Introduction to Confirmation and Following Jesus

  • 7th Grade: God’s Masterpiece -- Learning to cherish the person God made you to be.

  • 8th Grade: Changes and Choices – Discussing sexuality from a faith-based perspective

  • 9th Grade: Bridge to Commitment – Crafting faith/witness statements in preparation for Confirmation. This is mandatory to prepare for the Rite of Confirmation this October

  • 10/11th Grade: Emotional and Intellectual Health -- Building on the topic of physical health from 8th grade we will discuss the emotional and intellectual health that is necessary for a healthy child of God as we look at high school life, post-high school life, media and entertainment, politics, independence from parents, driving and more.

  • 12th Grade: Moving On – Facing the end-of-high-school transition with a firm foundation

Though each grade level will have specific learning subjects/activities set aside just for them, the entire group will travel, worship and eat meals together.

The All Youth Retreat is an experience that BOTH youth, and the adults who lead, WILL NEVER FORGET; Most want to keep coming back year-after-year! We desire for lives to be transformed through encountering Jesus and connecting with other believers, all while having a blast doing it in a safe and loving environment.
